Why did my bill amount change?
Your bill amount can change for several reasons and at different times. It may increase or decrease when your policy renews because of things like rate changes.
It can also change during your policy term. Let’s say you add a driver to your policy. This is one of the reasons your auto premium may go up. Updating your home characteristics to include home renovations may cause your homeowners premium to change.
Changing your due date could cause you to be double billed. This happens when the last payment of your current policy and the first payment of your renewal are due at the same time. Watch video for more info on changing your due date.
What if I received a nonpayment cancellation, or NPC?
If you got an NPC, it means you’re behind on your auto and property payments. You’ll need to pay the amount on the NPC notice by the due date to stop the cancellation.
You can make payments for the full amount online before the cancellation date. For other options, call us.
Other billing support questions
For most bill pay services, enter only “USAA” when adding the bill and select “USAA Property & Casualty” from the list of options. Our address is 9800 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, TX 78288-0001. Make sure it’s entered correctly and includes the last four digits of the ZIP code.
For the account number, enter your USAA number without any leading zeros, dashes, spaces or policy numbers. If your bank requires a nine-digit number, enter as many zeros as needed before your USAA number to bring the total to nine (example: 001234567). You can find your USAA number in your profile.
You can find your payment history by logging on to your account and choosing “Insurance Bill.”
- Use the Payments tab to see your payment history.

Your spouse can log on with their USAA number to access and make payments to your auto and property insurance bill. They can also save payment accounts and cards with their name on them.
If you have granted a power of attorney, they can call us to make a payment on your behalf. For security reasons, they may not be able to save payment accounts in their name, and they’ll have to show proof of the power of attorney (Opens in a new window).
We can’t transfer the money from your insurance bill to your credit card. But after the payment posts, you can call us and we’ll refund it. Depending on the form of payment you used, the refund can take 3 to 10 business days.
