It’s a safe driving program that offers a savings off your USAA Auto Insurance. Your monthly bill is based on how many miles you drive — the less you drive, the more potential savings.
When your policy renews, you can get an additional safe driving discount for good driving habits like avoiding phone usage and harsh braking.
It uses our safe driving app USAA DriveSafe™, GPS, and other sensors to automatically log your miles and learn your driving habits.
After it collects enough data, it gives you a driving score to tell you how you’re doing.

How’s USAA SafePilot Miles different from the USAA SafePilot® program?
Unlike USAA SafePilot Miles, the USAA SafePilot program gives you up to a 10% See note 1 discount up front, just for enrolling. There’s no limit to the amount of miles you can drive to participate.
And you can earn up to 30% See note 1 off your premium at renewal based on how safe you drive with the USAA SafePilot program. The better you drive, the bigger the discount you can earn.
