USAA Bank offers youth bank accounts to jumpstart your child’s financial journey. They can learn about saving money, creating and sticking to a budget, and accessing their money using an ATM or debit card.

Once your child turns 13, they can create their own login for online banking services like mobile deposits and transfers.

As a parent and joint account owner, you can monitor and access the account. You can also allow and restrict certain activities with parental controls.

To grant your child access, you’ll first need to log on to usaa.com, then select your child’s account.

Next, click “Menu,” and select “Parental Controls.”

Click “Change Settings,” then check the box in the “View Accounts” column to allow access.

Review your selections, then click “Next”.

Confirm your changes and click “Submit”.

You can help your child set up their personal login by going to usaa.com/enroll or by returning to the log on screen and selecting “Register for access.”

Be sure to have your child’s Social Security and USAA numbers on hand. You can find their USAA number in your Personal Profile.

Once your child is successfully enrolled, they can download the USAA Mobile App and enter their emailed credentials to access the account.
