Depending on what your child is ready for, you can set controls that let them view their account, transfer money and use Deposit@Mobile®. See note 1

You’ll need to apply for and open a USAA Youth Spending account. Once you do, you can follow these steps to order a debit card:
We’re required to verify your child’s identity. This must be done within 60 days of their birthday to keep their USAA accounts open.
But if you can give us the documents while they’re 17, we’ll have what we need to keep their account open.

You can then remove yourself from your child’s account. Or continue as a joint accountholder and help them manage their money.
