You can dispute several things on your consumer report, including but not limited to:
- Accounts you don't recognize or control.
- Balances that were paid or settled in full.

How to file a dispute through a consumer reporting agency
You can file a dispute by calling any of the consumer reporting agencies we report to

After the agency looks into your dispute, they'll tell you what they found.
What to include with your consumer report dispute
To help us resolve your dispute as quickly as possible, complete the dispute form and provide any relevant information like:

How we handle your dispute
We'll investigate your dispute and provide a response within 30 days. Our response won't include documents from the investigation.
What happens next
If we find something wrong, we'll send a correction to the consumer reporting agencies. They usually update reports within 60 days.
How you'll get the results of your dispute
We'll send our response online or by mail. When available, we'll use your chosen member communication preferences. You can change your preferences from your account profile.
If you get your documents online, you may get a text or an email from us telling you that you have a new document available.
