It offers more protection than a homeowners or renters policy by covering a wider range of accidental damages and losses. Plus, there’s no deductible.
You can cover one important item or many. Depending on the item, you may be able to get blanket or scheduled coverage.
This covers any item or collection up to a certain amount, or limit. A blanket policy helps protect items worth less than the limit. If your item is worth more, it won't be fully covered.
A blanket policy is easy to get because you don't have to describe your items or provide an appraisal up front. See note 2
This protects more expensive items valued over blanket policy limits. A scheduled policy helps make sure you have enough coverage.
To get a scheduled policy, you'll need to describe each item. Depending on the value, you may have to get an appraisal.
Protect things like fine jewelry and different types of watches.
A blanket policy covers your collection for up to $10,000. You’ll choose a per item limit of $2,500, $5,000, $7,500 or $10,000. This is the most we’ll pay for each individual piece in your collection.
For example, you chose a $7,500 per item limit because you have a have a $6,000 ring and other less expensive pieces. While on vacation, you lose that ring, a $400 bracelet and a $1,000 necklace. They're all covered because each is under the per item limit and collection limit of $10,000.
You can also get a scheduled policy with coverage starting at $100. This helps you insure single items or a collection valued over $10,000.
Cover things like treadmills and golf clubs with a blanket sports equipment policy. You can get coverage for a single item up to $2,500 or up to $10,000 for a collection.
Protect items like BMX bikes and e-bikes with a scheduled bike policy. Coverage limits start at $100. You can insure up to 10 bikes for up to $15,000 each.

With Personal Property Plus, you can get extra coverage for special items, including the expensive ones. And you won’t pay a deductible if you file a claim.
Yes. Personal Property Plus covers this gap for you. Auto policies usually offer limited coverage for things stolen from your car.
In general, you need to describe the item with enough details so we can find a replacement. We’ll also need an approximate value to insure it. Later, if there’s a loss, you’ll need to provide proof of ownership and value.
Depending on the item, you may also need an appraisal. When you ask for a quote, we’ll let you know if your item needs an appraisal. You can upload appraisals, item descriptions, photos and receipts on usaa.com.
