Health coverage designed for veterans

Humana USAA Honor Plans are the only ones developed in partnership with USAA.

They're designed with veterans in mind, but you don't have to be a veteran or a USAA member to apply for them. You only need to:

  • Be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B.
  • Live in the plan's service area.

Important things to consider during AEP

You can compare your prescriptions, providers and pharmacies to plans available in your area. Simply add your information when shopping for plans.

Prescription drug coverage

Year-to-year carriers may change the drugs they cover and their costs. You should review your current plan to make sure your prescriptions will be included next year.

Plan availability

Carriers can add or remove plans offered in your area from one year to the next. Make sure your current plan will still be available if you want to keep it. Or review other options to see if they’re a better fit.

Provider availability

Most providers align themselves with certain carriers and plans. If you have a doctor, specialist, provider or hospital you prefer, check if they'll be in your plan’s network for the next year.

Budget changes

Changes to your budget may affect how much you can pay toward medical costs. Check that your premiums, deductibles, copayments and prescription costs still work for you.

Health care needs

Plans for surgery, treatment or more doctor’s appointments next year could affect your needs. Think about these things when reviewing your policy to help you decide if you need more coverage.

Medicare Annual Enrollment Period FAQ

No. AEP is specifically for switching Medicare Advantage or Part D prescription drug plans, not Medigap policies.

It might. That’s why it’s important to check the details for any plan you’re considering switching to.

You can easily compare plan information online like:

  • Which doctors are in the new plan’s network.
  • Prescription costs and restrictions like step therapy or quantity limits.

You may be able to make changes to your Prescription Drug Plan and Medicare Advantage coverage if certain life events happen. This can include things like moving out of your plan’s coverage area or losing your insurance.

You can make changes during Special Enrollment Periods, but the timeframes may vary. For more information, call a licensed insurance agent at 800-793-8972.
