Our Signature CauseMilitary Family Resilience
The military lifestyle comes with unique joys, triumphs and challenges — and requires resiliency. The intent of our philanthropic investments at the national level is to make a positive impact in the lives of service members and their families by supporting programs that help them weather the challenges of military life.
Champion mental health and well-being for service members and their families.
Our nation's military members, veterans and their families have unique challenges due to their service and sacrifice. To positively impact their lives and contribute to their overall health, well-being and resiliency, we support programs that provide access to a wide range of tailored programs and services. We recognize that for any one member of a family to thrive, we must address the needs of the whole family.
Support financial readiness.
Nearly half of active-duty families live paycheck to paycheck. That's why it's essential to equip them with quality, unbiased financial readiness programs. We help people make informed financial decisions, something military families have said they need, according to a Blue Star Families survey.See note1 Nine in 10 service members who responded to the survey said they and their spouses need more financial education.
Provide fulfilling careers.
Veterans have historically faced challenges when transitioning to civilian work, including gaps in employment and underemployment. Each year, about 200,000 service members transition to civilian life. Some groups of veterans face greater barriers than others. We're committed to providing fulfilling careers for veterans and military spouses. We strive to inspire and encourage other employers to do the same.
